You know what’s worse than these? The cheap aftermarket knockoffs. I bought a bag of 50 of them to replace the various ones missing on my car and they’re garbage.

The oem honda are the best. Freightliner ones are crap. Jeep ones are crap. Has to do with manufacturer

Subaru is the worst. Their plastic is extremely brittle.
Nissan used to provide a hardware bag with new OEM bumper covers full of new clips and screws. I miss those days

Mine are also 6-7 years old, so they are a bit brittle.

I just broke a bunch of these in my Forester. Fortunately it’s a sort of pinch seam so I can just zip tie it instead of putting in new ones.

My 05 and 06 Caddy’s were held together by these kind of clips, but truthfully, I could always reuse 95% of them anytime I pulled the bumper or some other body panel. But once I found a good inexpensive supply of these, I would swap out most of the clips when in put stuff back together. So I have bags of the used clips now. But the GM ones were pretty durable. At least the ones with the pins in them work better than the crappy Christmas tree ones. I’m about 50/50 on those type of clips. Having the right tools helps too. They make some pliers that pop out the pins on these type of clips, those are nice to have.

Also these, also GM. The stems are so long and so brittle there is a 0% chance of not breaking one if you ever have to take the door cards off.

I have some Ford variants on my Lincoln. They’re neat once you learn how to use them. Push the button and you can pull them out. Once out, pull all the way up to prepare for reinstalling...

Just like with the things above. They can be genius if you have a very specific tool with very limited use.

It’s always an excercise in patients when I take the front or the bottom off the Forester.. I learned with my rally Impreza that if you go slow with a screwdriver you can avoid breaking every clip..
Cable ties do make the world go round though..

On the Prius C, you have to take 4 of these out just to get to the battery. I broke 2 of them just showing the owner where it was, because they were asking about what happens when it dies.
For the car people on here (all of us?), that’s the conventional battery under the seat and the car won’t start if it dies, even if the hybrid battery has plenty of juice. I don’t know if that’s true of all Priuii or not.
